Senior Liability Claims Attorney (Insurance)

Location: USA remote, or hybrid in Bloomington, Illinois for candidates within 50 miles; the hybrid schedule is three days in the office and two days remote.

Base pay: $110,000–$151,250 annually, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Represent the organization on claims-related legal matters and develop claims litigation strategy.
• Provide legal advice and training to claims personnel to support consistent file handling.
• Assign cases to outside counsel and evaluate counsel performance.
• Control litigation costs and claim severity while maintaining file oversight.
• Respond to subpoenas, court orders, and other legal requests in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
• Attend pertinent trials when needed and oversee outside counsel on claims-related litigation.

Requirements

• Typically 7+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
• Must have passed the Bar exam.
• Must be located in the USA for the remote arrangement.
• Candidates within 50 miles of Bloomington, Illinois must work a hybrid schedule of three office days and two remote days.
