Manager, Claims

Location: Remote - United States

Base salary: $132,300–$178,900 per year

What you will do

• Manage claims and litigation activities for professional claims staff.
• Analyze insurance coverage, liability, damages, causation, reserves, and settlement opportunities.
• Oversee defense counsel performance and support timely, cost-effective case disposition.
• Assign claims, manage workflows and schedules, and report claim status to leadership and reserve and settlement committees.
• Maintain claims policies and procedures, conduct quarterly file audits, and implement process improvements.
• Manage staff performance, training, time off, time cards, recognition, and disciplinary matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
• At least 8 years of experience handling medical malpractice or heavy bodily injury claims preferred.
• At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Broad knowledge of medicine and familiarity with legal concepts and litigation trends.
• Knowledge of insurance policy contracts, particularly medical malpractice and general liability.
