Salary: $79,500-$119,500 expected starting annual range; national range $79,500-$148,500.

What you will do

  • Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial fire alarm systems, networked panels, notification devices, and communication pathways.
  • Maintain low-voltage infrastructure including structured cabling, access control, surveillance, intercom, and network-connected building systems.
  • Coordinate engineering, installation, testing, maintenance, upgrades, and documentation for electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire protection, and data center projects.
  • Diagnose complex fire alarm networking, IP connectivity, electrical distribution, HVAC, UPS, generator, and life-safety system issues.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, property teams, technology staff, and internal stakeholders.
  • Respond to critical outages and emergencies, performing hands-on repairs and ensuring safe, code-compliant operation.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with commercial fire alarm installation, servicing, troubleshooting, networking, and system integration.
  • Typically eight or more years of electrical and mechanical maintenance experience in raised-floor or data center environments.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, switches, routers, electrical test equipment, HVAC, power distribution, and advanced schematics.
  • Knowledge of NFPA, NETA, IEEE, AIA, electrical, fire-life-safety, and building code requirements.
  • Ability to work independently, supervise safe work procedures, communicate clearly, and collaborate across functions.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record required; the position is safety sensitive and may include random alcohol and drug testing.

Nice to have

  • NICET fire alarm or manufacturer certifications.
  • State fire alarm, electrical, HVAC, hydronics, or CFC refrigerant licenses.
  • Level I Vibration Analyst and Thermographer certifications.
  • Undergraduate engineering studies or technical/vocational education with equivalent experience.
