VP, Product Design (AI)

Location: New York, New York, United States. Positions listed within a specific city are only available in that location and may follow a hybrid-remote or in-office schedule depending on the role.

Annual base salary: $305,000–$345,000 USD.

What you will do

• Set product design vision and strategy for the application layer, from developer onboarding through enterprise-grade agent orchestration.
• Define AI design standards for agentic experiences, including trust, transparency, human-in-the-loop controls, streaming states, explainability, and graceful failure.
• Own Satellite as a product, including its roadmap, governance, contribution model, adoption metrics, accessibility, and AI-native primitives.
• Build and lead a technical product design organization spanning product design, design engineering, UX research, and content design.
• Set usability and performance quality standards and represent design in executive partnership with Product, Engineering, and GTM.

Requirements

• 15+ years of product design experience, including 6+ years leading design organizations and managers of managers.
• Experience in B2B SaaS or developer-platform companies and ownership of complex technical application experiences for developer and business audiences.
• Demonstrated AI-native design leadership with shipped conversational, agentic, or generative product experiences.
• Technical depth in React, component architecture, design tokens, APIs, and LLM behavior including latency, hallucination, and non-determinism.
• Experience building or scaling a design system with cross-organizational adoption, governance, and measurable outcomes.
• Executive presence, AI-augmented daily practice, and a record of growing teams and developing design leaders.

Nice to have

• Experience in search, discovery, e-commerce, or data-intensive platforms.
• Background as a design engineer, UX engineer, or developer.
• Published talks or writing about AI design patterns or design systems.
