Plant Controller, Cape (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in Cape Canaveral, Florida, United States. Successful candidates must clear a U.S. government-administered background check to obtain clearance for on-site work at a government partner location.

Hiring range: $158,000–$238,000 USD per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Serve as the senior accounting leader for the manufacturing site and own the accuracy and integrity of site financial results.
• Lead plant accounting and close activities covering manufacturing costs, inventory, fixed assets, capital projects, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Own manufacturing and cost accounting, including standard costs, labor and overhead, work in process, inventory valuation, and production variance analysis.
• Establish financial controls and disciplined processes across inventory, production reporting, purchasing, receiving, fixed assets, and capital expenditures.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, FP&A, Corporate Accounting, and plant leadership to translate manufacturing activity into financial insights.
• Build accounting infrastructure for the transition from development and low-rate production to repeatable, rate-based manufacturing while leading the site accounting team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including significant manufacturing experience.
• Experience in plant controllership, site accounting, or manufacturing accounting leadership in a complex, capital-intensive environment.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, inventory accounting, standard costing, manufacturing variances, fixed assets, and capital-project accounting.
• Ability to partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and plant leadership to investigate operational drivers and solve complex financial issues.
• Experience building or strengthening accounting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting in a growing or evolving manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work on-site in Cape Canaveral, Florida, and clear the required U.S. government background check.

Nice to have

• CPA, CMA, MBA, or another relevant advanced qualification.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, industrial equipment, heavy machinery, or another highly engineered manufacturing environment.
• Experience transitioning from development or low-rate production to repeatable manufacturing, including improving standard costing and manufacturing master data.
• Experience with Infor LN, SAP, Oracle, SOX, government contracting, project accounting, data analytics, or process automation.
