Senior Data Engineer (AWS/Snowflake)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformation workflows.
• Build and optimize DBT models and Snowflake workloads for performance, data quality, and cost efficiency.
• Develop data-processing applications and automation with Python and Apache Spark.
• Integrate cloud, relational, and mainframe data, including files defined by COBOL copybooks.
• Modernize IBM DataStage workflows and support migration to cloud platforms.
• Improve pipeline reliability, observability, testing, documentation, and operational support.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering or data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL skills, including query development, optimization, and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with DBT and Snowflake.
• Proficiency in Python and Apache Spark, plus experience with AWS data services and cloud deployment.
• Knowledge of IBM DataStage, enterprise data integration, mainframe data formats, and COBOL copybooks.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience modernizing legacy data platforms or migrating workloads to the cloud.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, data governance, data lakes, and ETL patterns.
• Experience with orchestration, monitoring, automated data-quality testing, Agile delivery, CI/CD, and production data pipeline support.
