What you will do

  • Support civil and structural engineering for utility-scale solar and wind projects during estimating and project engineering phases.
  • Review engineering drawings and assist with civil and structural designs, quantity takeoffs, and constructability reviews.
  • Coordinate with Engineers of Record, construction teams, vendors, suppliers, and technical firms.
  • Provide design information, quantities, and specifications required for project construction.
  • Develop economical designs that meet power plant design-life requirements and applicable building and safety codes.
  • Support projects from concept through construction in collaboration with engineering, estimating, supply chain, construction, and project management teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering, or a related field, from an ABET-accredited college.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings, civil and structural design, quantity takeoffs, and constructability principles.
  • Ability to apply local, state, international, and company design standards.
  • Ability to design in compliance with NESC, NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and other applicable safety requirements.

Nice to have

  • Engineer-in-Training or Fundamentals of Engineering certificate.
  • Engineering, construction, or field experience in heavy civil, industrial, utilities, or a related industry.
  • Surveying or renewable energy experience.
