Wind Project Engineer (Wind Energy)

Location: Louisville, Colorado, United States; up to 25% travel to project locations and partner offices.

Salary: $94,000–$112,625 per year, plus an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Own engineering and technical decisions across wind project development, construction, and operations.
• Perform technical due diligence and provide constructability guidance for acquisitions and project development.
• Lead preliminary balance-of-plant design covering civil infrastructure, turbine foundations, collection systems, substations, and gen-tie systems.
• Develop and evaluate RFPs and support negotiations for BOP, turbine supply, and EPC contracts.
• Coordinate consultants and contractors, review design deliverables, respond to RFIs, and support construction execution.
• Conduct field inspections, safety assessments, commissioning reviews, troubleshooting, and design optimization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 1–3 years of professional experience in wind project design, development, construction, or analysis.
• Experience with medium-voltage collection systems, substations, gen-tie systems, interconnection switchyards, site civil infrastructure, turbine foundations, and geotechnical systems.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS software, and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to travel up to 25% to project locations and partner offices.
• Ability to support safe, high-quality project delivery within budget and schedule.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of professional experience in wind projects.
• Experience with energy storage systems or PV system design and modeling.
• Master’s degree, EIT or PE certification, and substation or high-voltage design experience.
• Experience with ArcGIS, MATLAB, ETAP, PSS/E, and other advanced modeling tools.
• OSHA 10-hour certification or equivalent construction safety training.
