Director, Accounting – TV Networks (News, Sports and Entertainment)

Location: Hybrid, based at hirify.global’s CNBC headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, with office attendance generally required at least three days per week.

Salary: $135,000–$160,000 per year, plus bonus and long-term incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Manage accounting and governance for the Central Services Agreement between hirify.global and NBCUniversal.
• Lead accounting for the Content Distribution business, including journal entries, reconciliations, subscriber audits, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Oversee month-end close, balance sheet integrity, reporting, and cross-brand transactions.
• Partner with Technical Accounting, Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Technology, Internal Audit, and external auditors.
• Lead accounting process improvements, standardization, documentation, automation, and ERP implementation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX requirements, and company accounting policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification and 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibility are required.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge covering financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, balance sheet governance, and SOX.
• Experience interpreting contracts and translating terms into accounting treatment and reporting requirements.
• Strong project management, communication, organization, problem-solving, and stakeholder partnership skills.
• Experience with ERP systems, reporting tools, and reconciliation or close-management platforms.

Nice to have

• Big Four or similar public accounting experience.
• Public company experience.
• Experience in media, entertainment, advertising sales, content distribution, licensing, or complex revenue environments.
