Software Developer Senior Specialist (Back-End)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid work with at least 3 days per week in the office. Set work hours: Wednesday to Sunday, 12 noon to 8 PM EST.

Base salary: $104,000–$148,000 per year, plus annual bonus or commission, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead production support by triaging, investigating, and resolving issues through code or configuration fixes.
• Coordinate deployments and maintain production-grade back-end applications.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-based software supporting financial market infrastructure.
• Translate business requirements into scalable and reliable solutions with product managers and global cross-functional teams.
• Conduct code reviews, contribute to technical design discussions, and uphold engineering quality standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of back-end software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java and hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services.
• Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, RESTful API development, and Spring/Spring Boot.
• Strong problem-solving skills with experience troubleshooting production issues.
• Availability for Wednesday-to-Sunday work hours and hybrid attendance in the Toronto office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with data lake and data warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with big data tools and technologies.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and Docker or Kubernetes.
