Senior Software Engineer – Oracle Developer

Location: Toronto, ON, Canada; hybrid work arrangement

Salary: CAD $98,000–$120,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop, support, and monitor Oracle-based applications that process business transactions and critical operational workflows.
• Design, code, test, troubleshoot, document, and implement database solutions using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
• Create and maintain queries, stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, and data-processing routines.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Monitor application and database performance, investigate alerts and failures, and support production incident resolution.
• Contribute to performance tuning, application testing, code quality, and system reliability in an Agile delivery environment.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience developing Oracle database applications with SQL and PL/SQL.
• Experience with stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, and complex SQL queries.
• Experience troubleshooting application and database issues, including production support and incident resolution.
• Experience with application and database performance monitoring, analysis, and tuning.
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, development, testing, debugging, documentation, deployment, and post-production support.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, solve complex technical problems, and communicate clearly with business and technology partners.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Java-based applications, services, or integrations.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Experience leading small development projects or mentoring less-experienced developers.
