Molding Engineer (Injection Molding)

Location: Onsite in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico

What you will do

• Optimize injection molding methods, processes, and equipment to reduce waste and labor hours while improving quality, efficiency, cost, and safety.
• Define production process sequences, cycle times, equipment requirements, and materials or components to meet production targets.
• Identify and implement process improvement projects within schedule, quality, and cost requirements.
• Approve internally or externally developed process designs and perform final project-related testing.
• Support production during process and equipment start-up by defining action plans and training maintenance and production personnel.
• Evaluate new process technologies and lead testing, approval criteria, and external provider selection.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred.
• At least 3 years of manufacturing experience and at least 3 years of injection molding experience.
• Experience with equipment automation is desirable.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills, including FMEA, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work, resolve conflicts, address employee and management concerns, and meet deadlines.
