R&D Intern (Lab) (2027)

Location: Libertyville, Illinois, US; hybrid with a minimum of 4 days per week in the office

Salary: $22.00–$26.00 per hour, based on education and skills

What you will do

• Support formulation development by preparing and testing formulations under supervision.
• Conduct materials and formulation testing using established procedures.
• Assist with method development and validation for materials analysis.
• Prepare samples and support prototype preparation and material characterization.
• Record experiments, analyze data, maintain laboratory equipment, and manage inventory.
• Collaborate on troubleshooting and protocol optimization while following safety and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on laboratory experience through coursework or academic projects.
• Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and equipment.
• Strong interest in materials testing and formulation, with problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Must be able to work in the Libertyville, Illinois office at least 4 days per week; relocation and housing assistance are not provided.
