Senior Staff Laboratory Engineer - Marine (Geotechnical Engineering)

What you will do

• Oversee the planning, execution, and interpretation of advanced geotechnical laboratory testing programs.
• Support the growth and development of laboratory capabilities and services.
• Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and improve laboratory equipment, testing systems, and data acquisition processes.
• Evaluate laboratory data, identify trends and anomalies, and provide engineering interpretations for project decisions and design recommendations.
• Participate in experimental research and R&D&I programs focused on soil and rock behavior.
• Mentor laboratory staff and junior engineers while supporting quality assurance, quality control, and accreditation activities.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
• PhD in Geotechnical Engineering required.
• At least one year of demonstrated experience in advanced geotechnical laboratory testing preferred.
• Experience with triaxial, consolidation, direct simple shear, resonant column, or cyclic testing methods is highly desirable.
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation, calibration, troubleshooting, automation, and data acquisition systems is highly desirable.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage competing priorities, and maintain technical, safety, and quality standards.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with laboratory quality management systems, accreditation requirements, and ASTM, ISO, or AASHTO standards.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and motivating multidisciplinary teams.
