What you will do
- Plan, coordinate, and execute complex laboratory testing, product evaluations, returned product analyses, and failure investigations.
- Develop, validate, and document laboratory test methods, standard protocols, and engineering procedures.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret test data, then prepare technical reports and recommendations.
- Organize and upgrade laboratory capabilities, equipment, and safety standards.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and work direction to engineering technicians across R&D and product engineering projects.
- Lead compliance and continuous improvement activities involving GMP, FDA, ISO, Lean Manufacturing, 6S, and EHS requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or an associate’s degree/technical certificate with at least 10 years of progressively responsible engineering technician experience.
- Experience in regulated manufacturing, testing, R&D, or medical device environments.
- Previous experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, or work direction to junior technicians.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, laboratory testing methods, product evaluation, equipment troubleshooting, documentation, and quality standards.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship or continuation is not available.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, use laboratory equipment for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Nice to have
- Direct experience with medical device development and applicable standards such as IEC standards.
- Experience training technical personnel and developing high-performance laboratory cultures.
