Senior Lab Technician, 2nd Shift (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Torrance, California, United States; second shift, Monday through Friday, 2:00pm–10:30pm, with occasional overtime, weekend support, and approximately 5% travel to external test locations.

Salary: $40.00–$50.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Set up and independently conduct environmental, functional, qualification, and acceptance tests on aircraft hardware.
• Review test specifications and procedures, verify setup configuration and safety compliance, and monitor critical test parameters.
• Collect, process, and analyze test data using data-acquisition and analysis systems.
• Document test execution, observations, anomalies, corrective actions, data summaries, plots, and technical reports.
• Investigate test anomalies, recommend next steps, and provide technical support to engineering, operations, quality, and safety teams.
• Train and mentor technicians and improve test methods, procedures, and laboratory practices.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance are required.
• Engineering or related technical degree, or equivalent education and technical training, plus at least eight years of progressively responsible test-technician experience.
• Experience with test instruments, data-acquisition systems, laboratory equipment, and independent test setup according to written procedures.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, test specifications, and technical documentation and communicate technical information clearly.
• Ability to work onsite on the second shift and perform physical laboratory duties, including lifting equipment, standing for extended periods, and working around noise, pressure systems, chemicals, liquid nitrogen, and electrical hazards.

Nice to have

• Experience with RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, or comparable aerospace and defense standards.
• Experience with endurance, fatigue, load, thermal, vibration, pressure-altitude, icing, humidity, sand-and-dust, salt-fog, or thermal-shock testing.
• Experience with LabVIEW, NI DIAdem, dSPACE, Dewesoft, MATLAB, environmental chambers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and related laboratory equipment.
• Experience with aircraft, defense, regulated testing, instrumentation, or data-acquisition setup.
