Registered Nurse Operating Room Ortho Full Time Days Sign on Bonus Eligible (Ortho)

Location: Palos Heights, Illinois, United States; onsite, full-time day shift

Salary: USD 34.50–55.20 per hour

What you will do

• Provide individualized, age-specific nursing care for orthopedic patients from admission through discharge.
• Assess patient status, identify care needs, validate diagnoses, and initiate or update care plans.
• Prioritize evidence-based nursing interventions and evaluate patient responses and clinical outcomes.
• Educate patients and families, coordinate discharge planning, and arrange referrals when needed.
• Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Document assessments, interventions, diagnoses, care-plan updates, and patient progress.

Requirements

• Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license required.
• Orthopedic experience required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; an ADN is acceptable with a commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of starting the clinical nurse role.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and analytical skills.
• External ADN candidates are not currently being considered for RN openings at Palos Hospital; internal ADN candidates may apply.
