Registered Nurse, RN - Perioperative Holding and Recovery Nurse

Salary: $37.50–$75.32 per hour, based on full-time equivalent

What you will do

• Provide direct nursing care to patients and families in a complex perioperative care area.
• Conduct and document accurate clinical assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Apply professional nursing judgment, evidence-based practice, and research in clinical practice.
• Manage patient assignments, delegate care based on patient needs, and coordinate with the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families, support informed decisions, and develop discharge plans with appropriate referrals.
• Support new staff, precept colleagues, participate in professional development, and contribute to departmental committees.

Requirements

• Massachusetts RN licensure required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Department-specific certifications relevant to the patient care area may be required.
• RN experience must match the applicable career level: Level I, less than 12 months; Level II, 12 months to less than 3 years; Level III, 3 to less than 8 years; Level IV, 8 or more years.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team.
• Ability to apply the nursing process; role requires prolonged standing and walking, patient handling, and exposure to infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, and chemicals.

Nice to have

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
