Registered Nurse, RN - Labor & Delivery

Location: MelroseWakefield Hospital, Melrose, Massachusetts; onsite night shift, 7 p.m.–7 a.m., 36 hours per week, every third weekend

Salary: $37.50–$75.32 per hour, based on full-time equivalent

What you will do

• Provide direct professional nursing care to patients and families in a complex labor and delivery care setting.
• Conduct and document clinical assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Apply nursing judgment, evidence-based practice, and research to changing patient needs.
• Manage patient assignments, delegate appropriately, and coordinate with physicians and the healthcare team.
• Develop patient and family education and discharge plans using appropriate referrals and community resources.
• Support new staff development, precepting, professional education, and departmental committees.

Requirements

• Massachusetts RN license required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• At least 1 year of RN experience required; placement is determined by RN experience across Levels I–IV.
• Relevant department-specific certifications may be required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to perform prolonged standing and walking, patient turning, and occasional lifting of 30–35 pounds.
