Director, Custodial Services

Location: Kingsville, Texas, United States; onsite university campus role with possible evening, holiday, weekend, and 24-hour emergency-call responsibilities.

What you will do

• Oversee day-to-day campus custodial services and the operation, maintenance, and appearance of multiple facilities.
• Lead custodial staff through hiring, onboarding, training, supervision, performance evaluation, and service improvement planning.
• Develop annual maintenance plans, budgets, forecasts, operating plans, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Plan schedules, inspections, major projects, work orders, supplies, equipment, and custodial fleet operations.
• Coordinate emergency response, disaster preparedness, safety programs, contractors, service providers, and university stakeholders.
• Monitor compliance with university policies and applicable federal, state, and local facility and safety laws.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 10 years of related experience.
• Strong oral, written, communication, presentation, interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Working knowledge of office software, word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather, allergens, elevated noise, and heat, and to move light, medium, or heavy objects with assistance.
• Security-sensitive position requiring a criminal history investigation and export-control authorization before employment.
