Assistant Director, Texan Outfitters (Retail Operations)

Location: Stephenville, Texas, United States. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with evening, weekend, holiday, and adjusted hours required during peak periods and university events.

Salary: $72,870–$103,481 target base annual salary, commensurate with experience and subject to funding availability.

What you will do

• Lead textbook, course-material, branded-merchandise, apparel, online, mobile, bookstore, and event retail operations.
• Supervise and develop bookstore, customer service, and online retail management staff.
• Manage course-material adoption, forecasting, purchasing, pricing, merchandising, inventory, fulfillment, returns, and loss prevention.
• Oversee point-of-sale, e-commerce, payment systems, reporting, and retail technology.
• Monitor financial, sales, inventory, and customer service performance to increase revenue, reduce costs, and improve services.
• Coordinate with faculty, academic departments, students, publishers, vendors, Athletics, Marketing and Communications, and licensing representatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Six years of related experience.
• Strong leadership, team management, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to work adjusted hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events when operationally required.
• Employment is contingent on credential verification and completion of a criminal history check; all positions are security-sensitive.

• Experience managing textbook and course-material operations in higher education.
• Experience overseeing retail, licensed merchandise, e-commerce, and multiple sales channels.
• Experience with inventory systems, point-of-sale technology, and financial analysis.
