Texas A&M University is a major university whose athletics department supports more than 650 NCAA Division I student-athletes across 20 varsity sports.
What you will do
- Lead the Olympic Performance Nutrition unit and manage full-time, developmental, and student staff.
- Develop staffing, resource, budget, and operational models for Olympic varsity sports.
- Provide nutrition counseling and education to student-athletes and teams, including fueling and supplementation guidance.
- Coordinate menus, food quality, fueling stations, and special events with the Clark Nutrition Center and campus dining partners.
- Lead or delegate body composition, hydration, bloodwork, and other performance assessments while developing data collection protocols.
- Collaborate with Performance & Wellness, coaches, Kinesiology, Food Science, A&M Health, and School of Medicine partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or a related field.
- At least four years of experience in collegiate athletics as an athletic compliance officer, athletic assistant, or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, plus the ability to communicate and work cooperatively.
- Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
- Nights and weekends are required.
- Thorough familiarity with NCAA, Southeastern Conference, and Texas A&M policies is required for compliance responsibilities.
Nice to have
- Six or more years of collegiate sports nutrition experience.
- Registered and licensed dietitian credentials or CSSD certification.
- Master’s degree and experience leading NCAA nutrition programs.
- Experience supervising staff, mentoring professionals, and managing a training table budget.
