Operations Manager, Space Institute (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead preventive, corrective, and planned maintenance across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, custodial, and grounds operations.
• Oversee daily facility operations, safety, security, building access, key management, badging, tenant onboarding, and facility usage.
• Coordinate vendors, contractors, maintenance providers, service requests, work orders, inspections, and performance records.
• Manage safety programs, emergency preparedness, fire drills, evacuation procedures, business continuity, and on-call response activities.
• Oversee specialty environments including Moon and Mars analog landscapes, heavy equipment, and specialized machinery.
• Support space utilization planning, facility modifications, equipment installation, supply ordering, and operational improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least five years of related experience in facility operations, maintenance, or project coordination.
• United States citizenship is required.
• Ability to support a security-sensitive position and complete the required background and credential verification processes.

• Experience in higher education, research, or complex multi-tenant facilities.
• Experience coordinating vendors, service contracts, and maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety standards.
