Materials Engineering Intern (Manufacturing)

Location: Wyoming, Minnesota, USA; onsite at the product development center

Salary: $24.00–$32.00 per hour, plus eligibility for overtime.

What you will do

• Set goals and complete projects supporting Materials Engineering and Testing department growth.
• Lead at least one project focused on technology and process development or improvement.
• Perform failure analysis and fractography using tools such as SEM and X-ray.
• Conduct metallurgical laboratory work, including material characterization, optical microscopy, mechanical testing, and report writing.
• Analyze non-metallic materials using FTIR, TGA, and DSC.
• Learn how materials, processes, components, and assemblies are validated for recreation vehicles.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 preferred.
• Ability to complete a full 12-week internship, working 40 hours per week from May/June through August 2025.
• Familiarity with metallurgical laboratory equipment and materials processes such as heat treatment, forging, metal stamping, plastic injection molding, and die casting.
• Strength in analysis, creative problem solving, communication, interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership.
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Previous internship or co-op experience.
• Previous leadership experience in work, organizations, or the classroom.
