Manager of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Manufacturing

What you will do

• Lead and directly manage a team of electrical, instrumentation, and controls manufacturing engineers and technicians.
• Deliver EI&C hardware and integrations in partnership with program leads and engineering departments.
• Stand up a new EI&C work center, including manufacturing techniques, tooling, automation, processes, headcount, and skills planning.
• Provide Design for Manufacturing input and establish integration standards for cabinets, panels, harnesses, and cabling.
• Drive standardization, cataloging, configuration management, and modular architectures to reduce complexity, rework, and SKU proliferation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of technical industry experience and a bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Electrical or Controls Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience manufacturing and testing EI&C assemblies and coaching or mentoring manufacturing and operations teams.
• Experience leading teams in fast-paced environments; direct people-management experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, industrial safety, power electronics, medium-voltage distribution, instrumentation, data acquisition, EMC, industrial communications, PLCs, embedded systems, and pneumatic or gas-handling controls.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident with a current Green Card, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee.

Nice to have

• Experience providing Design for Manufacturing input and establishing new manufacturing work centers.
• Experience with scalable EI&C manufacturing processes, cable and harness production, panel or cabinet builds, functional test stations, and automated continuity or hi-pot testing.
• Strong Lean Manufacturing background, including Kanban, 5S, SMED, standard work, line balancing, and PFMEA.
