Manufacturing Engineer (CNC Machining)

Location: Office/site only in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. Thursday–Monday schedule, 5 days × 8 hours, with flexibility for off-shift operations, weekends, and critical customer projects.

What you will do

• Develop and implement product-specific manufacturing processes for complex gas turbine combustion components.
• Create technical work instructions, lead operator training, and provide shop-floor process support.
• Provide technical guidance on tooling, fixtures, manufacturing equipment, and machining operations.
• Partner with Design Engineering and Service Engineering on Design for Manufacturing initiatives and new product introductions.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for lathe, milling, and mill-turn operations using G-code and M-code.
• Investigate and resolve quality notifications related to machining, laser processing, and welding while improving productivity, quality, and cost performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• At least 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in CNC programming, fabrication, and machine shop environments.
• Hands-on experience with lathe, milling, and mill-turn programming, including machining nickel-based alloys.
• Proficiency with Siemens NX CAM, NX CAD, Fanuc and Siemens controls, multi-channel programming, Teamcenter, and SAP.
• Experience with Vericut or NX ISV machining simulation software.
• Knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, workholding, materials, GD&T, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
