Critical Facilities Technician

Location: Southaven, Mississippi; Memphis, Tennessee, United States. Onsite work supporting supercomputing data centers, with flexible shifts for 24x7 coverage, occasional travel of up to 10%, and work in elevated, outdoor, tight, noisy, and potentially hazardous environments.

What you will do

• Operate, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair critical mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems at supercomputing data centers.
• Support equipment including pumps, piping, chillers, cooling towers, CRAH units, generators, motors, UPS systems, switchgear, wiring, lighting, and water supply systems.
• Ensure site safety, environmental compliance, system reliability, and operational performance.
• Write and execute MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs; maintain documentation and spare-parts inventories.
• Coordinate scheduled shutdowns and develop energy-monitoring metrics.
• Support commissioning by witnessing equipment startup, assisting with functional testing, and monitoring construction progress.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or at least 2 years of hands-on operations or facilities experience in lieu of a degree; data center experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical or electrical engineering principles, critical-systems documentation, and building and electrical power monitoring systems.
• Experience with PLC-based control systems and/or Building Management Systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, written and verbal communication, and technical writing skills in English.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, use hand and power tools, work at heights up to 100 feet, and operate in extreme outdoor conditions and environments with fumes, odors, and noise.
• Availability for flexible shifts covering 24x7 operations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Valid driver’s license required; willingness to travel up to 10% required.
