General Manager (Retail)

Location: CA - Costa Mesa South Coast Plaza; onsite retail studio role with weekend and holiday availability required

Salary: $75,000–$110,000 per year, plus potential commission, bonuses, geographic premium, and equity awards.

What you will do

• Lead, hire, develop, motivate, and coach the retail sales team.
• Deliver the Herman Miller Client Experience through demonstrations, quoting, and sales generation.
• Manage performance, feedback, training, employee relations, and collaboration with Human Resources and the Regional Manager.
• Drive the store sales plan, revenue growth, merchandising, and visual presentation standards.
• Manage store operations, shipments, scheduling, supplies, controllable expenses, and profit goals.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of retail management experience.
• Strong verbal, written, organizational, interpersonal, listening, and people-management skills.
• Ability to inspire teams in a high-traffic environment and build trusted relationships with employees, peers, and clients.
• Financial literacy, business acumen, and experience managing budgets.
• Experience with POS systems, Microsoft Office, web navigation, and 3-D rendering programs.
• Ability to routinely move objects weighing more than 40 pounds and follow safety requirements.
