Senior System Engineer (Automation) – Unix

Location: Leudelange, Luxembourg; fully remote work is accepted for a B2B contract.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and deploy automation solutions for Unix/Linux environments.
• Build and maintain reusable Ansible roles, playbooks, scripts, and automation frameworks.
• Automate patching, reboots, configuration management, provisioning, deployment, and monitoring workflows.
• Provide third-level support, investigate escalated incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop unit and integration tests and contribute to CI/CD practices.
• Collaborate with architects, network engineers, system administrators, developers, and operations teams in Agile ceremonies.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience with at least 10 years as a Linux Administrator, System Engineer, or Automation Engineer.
• Strong Linux system administration, Ansible, infrastructure automation, Python, and Bash skills.
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite, EfficientIP, GitLab, and CI/CD practices.
• Knowledge of Linux storage technologies, including LVM, filesystem management, and NFS/shared storage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, is mandatory.

Nice to have

• Terraform, Kickstart, Podman, HAProxy, VTOM, n8n, ServiceNow integrations, or Perl and PHP automation scripts.
• Experience with AI and LLM-based tools for automation, development, or documentation.
• Knowledge of an additional European language.
