Senior Engineer Sensoric Systems and Advanced Modelling (Wind Energy)

Location: Remote more than 50% of the time, with listed locations in Bremen, Aurich-Tannenhausen, Kiel, Aurich, Mannheim, and Magdeburg, Germany, and Barneveld, Netherlands.

What you will do

• Define requirements, functions, and interfaces for intelligent industrial sensor systems used in wind turbines and BESS.
• Conduct concept and feasibility studies and assess advanced commercial off-the-shelf sensor systems.
• Integrate sensor systems into controller environments, including modelling and sensor software functions.
• Develop application-relevant dynamics, communication models, and state machines using Matlab, Simulink, Simscape, and System Composer.
• Verify and validate sensor models and system functions on HiL platforms and system test benches.
• Provide product ownership and lateral leadership for development teams and internal and external partners.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Strong knowledge of industrial intelligent sensor systems covering hardware and software functions.
• Experience with requirements engineering, test specifications, V-model development, verification, and validation.
• Proficiency in model-based development with Matlab, Simulink, and Simscape; System Composer experience is advantageous.
• Strong systems thinking, understanding of system interfaces, decision-making ability, and proven product ownership experience in modelling or software engineering.
• Experience managing local and international stakeholders, with excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
