Software Engineer – Datacenter

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States. The role follows a hybrid work model with time split between the assigned Intel site and off-site work. US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance are required.

Annual salary: $100,550–$141,950 USD.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and debug software applications for end users and third-party integrations.
• Contribute to frontend and backend development using modern programming languages and software methodologies.
• Write functional and test code, automate build and deployment processes, and perform unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Apply secure coding practices and ensure compliance with software legal guidelines.
• Translate user stories into software solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure planning.
• Document installation and maintenance procedures and interact with end users to define system requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with at least one year of hands-on software development experience, or a relevant master’s degree with no prior professional experience.
• US citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
• Familiarity with Linux shells and command-line interfaces.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ansible, Cobbler, containers, and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Linux operating systems, preferably SUSE.
• Exposure to Elastic, Kibana, and Grafana monitoring solutions.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP/S networking protocols.
• Familiarity with statically typed languages such as Java or C++.
