Senior Software Engineer (Stream Processing & Analytics)

Location: Remote within the United States, including locations in Georgia, Minnesota, Texas, New York, North Carolina, Arizona, Washington, Massachusetts, and California. Some travel may be required based on business demand.

Salary: $169,200–$225,600 per year.

What you will do

• Architect and develop the cloud-native Stream Governance platform for Kafka and real-time data.
• Design and implement complex backend services in a multi-tenant, microservices-based environment.
• Drive projects from requirements and architecture through implementation, rollout, and production operations.
• Operate a mission-critical service with a 99.99% SLA across more than 100 AWS, GCP, and Azure regions.
• Make technical decisions balancing reliability, scalability, performance, security, and operability.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders on the product roadmap.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
• 8+ years of experience designing, building, scaling, and operating backend systems in production.
• Deep proficiency in at least one of Java, Go, C, C++, or Python, with strong data structures, algorithms, and system design fundamentals.
• Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, high-throughput services, and large-scale data pipelines.
• Experience operating production services in AWS, GCP, or Azure, including Docker and Kubernetes workloads.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; experience leading and mentoring technical teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with mission-critical, multi-tenant, or multi-region services with stringent availability and latency requirements.
• Familiarity with Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, or similar distributed data processing systems.
• Open-source contributions, technical publications, blogs, or conference presentations.
