Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Santa Clara, California, USA; at least 50% of each quarter is spent in the office or in the field.

Annual base salary: $190,100–$285,100 USD for Santa Clara; additional US locations range from $160,100–$285,100 USD, and Colorado ranges from $168,500–$252,700 USD.

What you will do

• Design, build, and improve monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing services.
• Own distributed tracing end to end, including instrumentation, context propagation, spans, sampling, and diagnosis of multi-hop request paths.
• Build data capture, collection, metrics ingestion, and real-time or batch processing services across Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack, and bare-metal infrastructure.
• Develop dashboards, alert definitions, automation, and infrastructure components for production deployment.
• Instrument AI-powered workflows and agent orchestration for performance, cost, quality, and reliability.
• Partner with product and application teams on SLOs, SLIs, production readiness, data quality, and platform support, including on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 8 years of software engineering and design experience, including 7 years coding in Python, Go, or Java.
• Experience with Linux, distributed tracing, time-series databases, document stores, and log collection or management systems.
• Experience with AWS or GCP observability tooling, containerization, infrastructure automation, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.
• Experience with service mesh, Prometheus, and cloud-native technologies.
• Hands-on experience with LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Semantic Kernel, plus knowledge of agentic AI patterns.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

• Master’s degree.
• Experience applying anomaly detection, intelligent alerting, or automated root-cause analysis to observability.
