Software Developer (Cloud & Distributed Systems)

Location: Remote/Teleworker, primarily working from home; the posting also includes a hybrid designation.

What you will do

• Build and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant distributed services running in the cloud.
• Develop microservices and backend components with Python and Go, with additional Java development for event-driven stream processing.
• Build and evolve real-time and batch data processing pipelines for AI Driven Engineering, including event streams, ingestion pipelines, and ML-driven workflows.
• Own key cloud services end to end and contribute to Mist’s cloud-based network configuration and reporting platform.
• Write unit, integration, and functional tests that support safe refactoring and continuous delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Typically 2+ years of software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Python, Go, or Java.
• At least 1 year of experience building event-driven stream processing systems with Kafka, Storm, Flink, or similar technologies.
• Experience with RESTful API design, distributed datastores such as Redis, Cassandra, or Postgres, and cloud-native technologies or Kubernetes.
• At least 1 year of experience with big-data frameworks such as Apache Spark or Databricks.
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, automation, service ownership, Linux, AI tools, analytical problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration.
