Staff Software Engineer, Agentic AI

Location: New York City area; hybrid or in-office working models

Base salary: $151,000–$297,000 USD per year for U.S.-based candidates

What you will do

• Provide technical direction for a new platform that helps customers build and deploy AI applications using hirify.global.
• Define the first version and future evolution of the service with product management, engineering, design, and partner teams.
• Design, build, test, and deliver core platform components for high-scale compute and distributed systems.
• Shape architecture, code reviews, development practices, and developer experience as the product grows.
• Mentor engineers and own complex infrastructure projects from conception through successful delivery.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building distributed systems or foundational cloud services at scale.
• Strong background in high-scale compute, data distributed systems, databases, concurrency, performance tuning, and debugging.
• Interest in working with Python, Go, and Java.
• Experience designing, testing, and maintaining software in large, long-lived codebases.
• Experience leading projects involving 15–20 people from conception through delivery.
• Strong technical communication, collaboration, ownership, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Experience with AI frameworks and tools.
