Tool & Die Maker Lead

Location: Columbus, OH, United States; onsite. Monday–Thursday, 4:00 p.m.–2:30 a.m., with overtime as needed.

Salary: $32.02–$51.25 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform progressive die changeovers, preventive maintenance, cleaning, inspections, reconstruction, and restoration.
• Oversee the setup, repair, modification, maintenance, and operation of progressive dies.
• Lead, schedule, coach, mentor, and develop toolmakers and tool technicians.
• Coordinate daily operations, priorities, communication, and work across shifts and plant departments.
• Coordinate tooling supplies, outside-vendor work, spare tooling, and die-component inventory.
• Ensure safe operations and compliance with applicable OSHA requirements.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent two-year college education preferred, with 3–4 years of related experience or training.
• Ability to calculate tooling dimensions, tolerances, and measurements.
• Experience using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, and gauge blocks.
• Ability to read part drawings and track drawing revisions and updates.
• Ability to use spreadsheets, AutoCAD, Smartsheet, and Maintenance Connection for tooling, reporting, CAD review, work orders, and timekeeping.
• Ability to follow instructions, communicate effectively, apply critical thinking, and support team safety.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of waste elimination, continuous improvement, 5S, Kaizen, and Kanban.
