Machinist / Toolmaker (CNC)

Location: Hackettstown, New Jersey, United States of America; 1st shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

Hourly pay: $27.50–$31.00 per hour

What you will do

• Operate manual and CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and related equipment to fabricate tooling and components.
• Program, set up, and run CNC machines using G-code.
• Modify, repair, and maintain molds, dies, jigs, fixtures, and cutting tools.
• Use micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision instruments to verify part accuracy.
• Read engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions; track tooling project time and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to troubleshoot tooling issues and improve manufacturing efficiency.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in machining, tool room, or mold-making environments.
• Proficiency in CNC and manual machining, including lathes and mills.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair tooling with minimal supervision.
• Experience with precision measurement tools and knowledge of material properties, heat treatment, and machining best practices.

Nice to have

• Experience repairing and maintaining injection molds.
• Knowledge of MasterCAM, Creo, or DraftSight.
• Welding and fabrication experience using MIG or TIG.
• Lean manufacturing or 5S experience.
