Senior Manager, IT Infrastructure (AI)

Location: Remote in Spain, France, Germany, Norway, or the United Kingdom

Salary: €134,000–€169,000 annually in EMEA; UK compensation is listed as £0 with equity offered. Eligible employees may also receive a discretionary bonus, equity awards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the deployment, operation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of large-scale IT infrastructure across EMEA AI data centre campuses.
• Oversee compute, storage, networking, platform services, capacity planning, asset management, and operational readiness.
• Set standards for secure, resilient, repeatable deployments and maintain incident, problem, change, event, and disaster recovery processes.
• Drive improvements in availability, recovery times, capacity utilization, change success, operational risk, and total cost of ownership.
• Lead infrastructure site teams, vendors, contractors, integrators, and managed service providers while managing SLAs, budgets, contracts, and procurement.
• Hire and develop a high-performing team, communicate technical risks and investment needs, and partner with architecture, engineering, security, facilities, product, and service owners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically 10 or more years of experience in IT infrastructure, data centre operations, cloud infrastructure, systems engineering, network engineering, or a related discipline.
• Several years of experience managing technical teams and leading large-scale infrastructure operations or transformation programmes.
• Experience operating business-critical or mission-critical infrastructure at enterprise or hyperscale scale, with strong knowledge of servers, storage, networking, and monitoring.
• Experience with disaster recovery, capacity planning, incident management, change management, cross-functional leadership, and senior stakeholder communication.
• Ability to participate in or oversee an on-call and major incident response rota.

Nice to have

• Experience in hyperscale cloud, colocation, internet service provider, telecoms, or large enterprise data centre environments.
• Experience managing infrastructure across multiple regions, countries, or geographically distributed sites.
• Experience with public cloud platforms, hybrid or multi-cloud operating models, and data centre facilities interfaces.
• Knowledge of IT service management, reliability engineering, ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, or similar control frameworks.
• Certifications such as ITIL, CISSP, CCNP, PMP, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
