Manager, Technical Operations (Azure/Kubernetes)

Location: US-Remote

Base salary: $130,000–$160,000 USD annually, with potential eligibility for an annual bonus or commission and, for some roles, overtime pay.

What you will do

• Own the Infrastructure Service Request intake, prioritization, backlog health, and workflow governance in JIRA.
• Coordinate triage, scheduling, maintenance windows, patching, security updates, and infrastructure initiatives routed to platform scrum teams.
• Lead, coach, hire, and develop Cloud Platform Engineers while managing team capacity, performance, and career growth.
• Serve as an escalation point during the on-call rotation, lead major-incident post-mortems, and improve platform reliability toward a 99.99% uptime target.
• Partner with InfoSec and cross-functional stakeholders on security hardening, PCI and SOC 2 audit readiness, change management, and operational governance.
• Use metrics, workflow automation, dashboards, and AI-assisted tooling to reduce operational toil and improve throughput.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, site reliability engineering, or related technical operations.
• Experience managing technical work intake and backlogs with JIRA or similar tools, coordinating maintenance windows, and applying change-management frameworks.
• Expertise supporting Microsoft Azure, including AKS, VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, VPN/ExpressRoute, managed identities, Azure Policy, and RBAC.
• Expertise operating and troubleshooting Kubernetes, Cloudflare DNS/CDN/WAF/Zero Trust, Windows and Ubuntu server environments, IIS, Nginx, .NET, Python/Django, and containerized applications.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Bash and/or Python, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps, monitoring and logging tools, and network security controls.
• Familiarity with PCI, SOC 2, and SOX requirements, policy-as-code, secure network design, audit evidence collection, and security hardening.

Nice to have

• Azure AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-400 certification.
• ITIL 4 Foundation certification.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or New Relic.
