R&D Intern (TD) (2027)

Location: Hybrid in Libertyville, Illinois, US; interns must work from the office at least 4 days per week. Relocation and housing assistance are not provided.

Salary: $22.00–$26.00 per hour, depending on education and skills.

What you will do

• Support laboratory testing, sample preparation, data collection, and R&D activities.
• Assist with designing, executing, and documenting experiments.
• Evaluate products, materials, and performance using laboratory and other assessment methods.
• Analyze experimental and user perception data and communicate findings through reports and presentations.
• Maintain research records and assist with laboratory organization, equipment maintenance, and inventory management.
• Collaborate with R&D scientists and team members to troubleshoot challenges and improve testing procedures.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Interest in product development, research, testing, or evaluation.
• Hands-on laboratory, research, or project experience through coursework or academic research.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with data analysis and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while following safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with statistical software.
