Principal Finance Systems Administrator (NetSuite/Coupa)

Location: Chicago, United States; hybrid schedule with three days of in-office collaboration and two remote days per week.

Salary: $144,000–$219,000 per year.

What you will do

• Own the architecture, administration, configuration, upgrades, workflows, custom fields, and access management for NetSuite and Coupa Spend Management.
• Design, build, monitor, and maintain integrations between NetSuite, Coupa, Concur, Salesforce, banking portals, and other financial applications through APIs, EDI, and SFTP.
• Serve as the escalation point for system bugs, integration mismatches, synchronization errors, and break-fix incidents.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls, SOX guidelines, IT General Controls, and data privacy requirements.
• Translate finance, accounting, procurement, FP&A, and sales operations requirements into scalable system enhancements.
• Optimize SuiteScript, Python, JavaScript, and middleware automation while maintaining technical documentation, runbooks, and SOPs.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in financial systems administration, with deep expertise in NetSuite and Coupa.
• Proven experience architecting and managing API-, EDI-, and SFTP-based financial integrations.
• Foundational knowledge of SuiteScript, JavaScript, or SQL, plus experience with integration middleware.
• Strong understanding of procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, revenue recognition, multi-currency consolidation, and month-end close processes.
• Advanced troubleshooting, debugging, documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in the Chicago hybrid environment with three required office days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with MuleSoft or similar middleware integration platforms.
• NetSuite Certified Administrator, NetSuite ERP Consultant, or Coupa Platform Certification.
