Senior Product Owner (Fintech)

Location: Remote, Canada

Salary: $110,000–$125,000 CAD per year, depending on experience, plus bonus.

What you will do

• Lead delivery for Billing and Data teams by managing backlogs, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and prioritizing work for engineering execution.
• Write feature epics, user stories, and precise acceptance criteria while maintaining detailed knowledge of owned platforms and features.
• Plan and conduct UAT, including writing and executing SQL queries in BigQuery to validate pipeline outputs, transformations, and data accuracy.
• Coordinate release planning, release notes, rollout communications, QA activities, and stakeholder updates.
• Manage cross-team dependencies and collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Program Managers, Product Owners, and business stakeholders.
• Support MVP definition, product training, billing integrations, data models, dashboards, governance, lineage, and privacy-compliant data handling.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager in platform, infrastructure, or data-centric environments.
• Demonstrated ability to become the technical subject matter expert for owned products and features.
• Strong understanding of cloud data platforms, ingestion pipelines, and transformation tools such as BigQuery, dbt, and Airflow.
• Ability to write and execute SQL queries against BigQuery for UAT validation.
• Experience with Agile frameworks and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Figma.
• Experience with UAT, software release cycles, QA processes, documentation, and communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with financial systems, billing platforms, accounting modules, SaaS, or fintech.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with data governance, GDPR, CCPA, or other privacy-compliant data handling.
• Computer science education or equivalent technical experience.
