Senior Engineer, Automation

What you will do

• Review and assess ICS, DCS, process control, real-time plant information, and laboratory management systems for obsolescence, supportability, interoperability, integration, and reliability.
• Audit system performance and identify improvements in process monitoring, optimization, alarm management, control-loop performance, and higher-level MES applications.
• Develop and update technical specifications, functional specifications, as-built documentation, user manuals, training materials, scopes of work, and tender documents.
• Coordinate technical bid evaluations and the implementation of approved automation projects, including installation, commissioning, modifications, and upgrades.
• Provide engineering expertise for real-time process information management and laboratory information management systems.
• Supervise assigned activities, train staff, support budgets and reporting, and implement HSE, sustainability, quality, and continuous-improvement practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• At least 15 years of experience in automation system design, installation, commissioning, operations, maintenance, testing, and CS validation.
• Experience in a large industrial organization, preferably in the oil and gas industry, including MEGA EPC projects.
• Knowledge of process control system design, compressor and control safety systems, SCADA, PID tuning, control-loop monitoring, and regulatory control.
• Experience with APC and multivariable control, alarm management, process optimization, rotating equipment controls, and gas treatment operations.
• Knowledge of HSE risk management, process safety management, hazard identification, permit to work, energy isolation, and safe work practices.
