Mechanical Estimator (Mechanical & Piping)

What you will do

• Prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for mechanical equipment, piping, tankage, and pipeline scopes in EPC and EPCC tenders.
• Perform and verify quantity take-offs using equipment lists, P&IDs, line lists, piping isometrics, MTOs, general arrangement drawings, layouts, and 3D models.
• Identify scope gaps, ambiguities, and risks, and prepare technical queries and client clarifications.
• Build unit rates from first principles using labour, plant, materials, subcontracting, welding, and erection productivity data.
• Prepare manpower histograms, crane and heavy-lift requirements, durations, site indirect inputs, and fabrication-yard planning inputs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–7 years of estimating experience on EPC oil and gas, refinery, or petrochemical projects, preferably including at least 3 years in the GCC.
• Strong ability to interpret equipment lists, data sheets, P&IDs, line lists, piping isometrics, MTOs, GA drawings, and equipment and piping layouts.
• Experience with quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, first-principles rate build-up, productivity analysis, and resource loading.
• Knowledge of Middle East pipe markets, piping materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, and GRE, plus welding and PWHT requirements.
• Experience extracting quantities from 3D models using Navisworks, E3D, or S3D, and awareness of civil and E&I interfaces.
