Associate, Electrical Engineer (FPGA)

Location: Clifton, New Jersey, United States; onsite schedule with a 9/80 work arrangement.

Salary: $71,000–$132,000 annually for the New Jersey pay-transparency range.

What you will do

• Design, analyze, modify, test, and evaluate FPGA and other programmable hardware.
• Design complex circuit card assemblies for avionics and space photonic subsystems and integrated communication systems.
• Perform system analysis, modeling, simulations, experimental testing, and evaluation within time and cost constraints.
• Develop digital designs, modem architectures, waveform-generation solutions, and signal-processing implementations.
• Select components and equipment based on specifications, reliability, and design analysis.
• Present design reviews to peer engineers and write scripts controlling synthesis and build tools.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, computer science, or a related field, or graduated within the last 12 months.
• Knowledge of programmable logic and VHDL for digital design.
• Knowledge of digital communications systems, waveform generation, FPGA design, and digital signal processors for modem design.
• Knowledge of digital signal-processing techniques, algorithm development, software coding, and MATLAB-based simulation or modeling for DSP design.
• Ability to determine design approaches, analyze feasibility, conduct testing, and evaluate results.
• Some positions may require a security clearance, which may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

Nice to have

• Training in advanced electronics packaging and MEMS technology.
• Experience with high-density interconnect and semiconductor packaging technology.
