FPGA Engineer

Salary: $102,000–$118,000 USD per year for roles hired in California.

What you will do

• Design and verify RTL modules for FPGA applications.
• Test and bring up custom FPGA circuit cards with memory, Ethernet, sensors, and other onboard peripherals.
• Automate test environments, lab equipment, measurement devices, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Document design tradeoffs, state-machine flows, system address maps, and block diagrams.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team to design and manufacture RF systems for multiple platforms.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering.
• At least 2 years of technical experience.
• Experience implementing FPGA and microprocessor designs on embedded hardware.
• Experience with Xilinx or Intel FPGA parts and associated tools, including Vivado and Quartus.
• Understanding of SPI, I2C, and UART digital communication protocols.
• Must be a US citizen and/or permanent resident; a future US security clearance will be required.

Nice to have

• MS degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering and 3+ years of experience.
• Experience implementing complex DSP algorithms on FPGAs.
• Proficiency with TCL, Python, Perl, or Matlab for design automation and scripting.
• Knowledge of UVM and SystemVerilog testbench development.
• Experience with high-speed Verilog/VHDL designs, DDR4, HBM, SerDes, 100GE, JESD, or Interlaken.
