Engineering Internship (Process, Mechanical, Automation & IT) (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite at the hirify.global office within the Novo Nordisk campus in Clayton, North Carolina, United States. Candidates should reside within a reasonable commuting distance. Housing, relocation assistance, and travel stipends are not available.

Salary: $20.00–$25.00 per hour, based on education and experience.

What you will do

• Support process, mechanical, automation, and IT/OT engineering projects and improvement initiatives.
• Participate in engineering design studies, data collection, analysis, technical evaluations, equipment assessments, field walks, inspections, and troubleshooting.
• Help develop and review drawings, specifications, reports, and other engineering deliverables.
• Contribute to process improvement and cLEAN initiatives focused on efficiency, reliability, and compliance.
• Assist with automation and data solutions using S88/S95 standards and FDA guidelines.
• Participate in validation, commissioning, testing, qualification, project meetings, workshops, and professional development activities.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship for the duration of the internship.
• Curious, analytical, detail-oriented, organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong problem-solving, written and verbal communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and with multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Coursework or project experience in process engineering, mechanical design, automation and controls, PLCs, SCADA, industrial systems, data analytics, or IT infrastructure.
• Competence with Microsoft Office applications.
• Interest in pharmaceutical, biotech, advanced manufacturing, or process improvement.
• Experience with team projects, student organizations, engineering clubs, or research projects.
