Stationary Engineer (District Energy)

Location: Onsite in Baltimore, Maryland, United States

Salary: $51.44 per hour plus a 10% bonus target.

What you will do

• Operate and monitor boilers, chillers, steam systems, chilled water systems, feedwater equipment, and distribution systems.
• Stand watch as Lead Control Operator, Control Operator, or Auxiliary Operator and oversee assigned personnel and equipment.
• Monitor pressure, temperature, flow, cooling tower operation, boiler and feedwater quality, fuel transfer, and storage systems.
• Identify, report, mitigate, and correct equipment or system anomalies and respond to equipment casualties.
• Prepare work orders, operational records, logs, customer complaint documentation, and maintenance reports.
• Maintain safe working conditions and ensure compliance with operating, safety, environmental, water management, and outfall requirements.

Requirements

• Maryland First Class Stationary Engineer's License required.
• At least five years of experience operating stationary or marine boilers.
• Ability to work extended or rotating shifts, including backshifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to climb and tolerate heights up to 75 feet, work in confined spaces and elevated temperatures, and lift or transport up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license in good standing and a driving record meeting company standards.
• Reliable written and verbal communication, maturity, and judgment for Control Operator watch duties.

Nice to have

• EPA CFC Technician Certification: Universal or at least Type II and Type III.
• Understanding of water management quality, outfall controls, fuel systems, asbestos controls, and metering regulations.
