Light Commercial HVAC/R Technician

Location: Santa Ana, California; field-based across the Greater Santa Ana Area with local travel between multiple sites

Salary: $29.75–$33.50 per hour plus overtime

What you will do

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC/R systems, including walk-in coolers and refrigerators, rooftop units, exhaust fans, hoods, make-up air units, and DOAS systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC/R, refrigeration, kitchen ventilation, and facility issues across multiple sites.
• Conduct site inspections and support basic electrical and plumbing maintenance.
• Use Building Management Systems to monitor performance, diagnose issues, and provide remote troubleshooting support.
• Support new facility openings by verifying equipment installation and system functionality.
• Coordinate with external vendors on specialized repairs, warranty work, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC/R experience.
• Experience with rooftop units, ventilation systems, or walk-in refrigeration.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally between sites.
• Ability to work in a field-based role across the Greater Santa Ana Area.

Nice to have

• HVAC Universal certification, EPA certification, trade school training, or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in restaurants, hospitality, or multi-site facilities.
• Working knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.
