Hardware Engineer – Host Processor Systems (Embedded Hardware)

Salary: $103,500–$191,900 per year, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and modify embedded hardware platforms using Intel processors and ARM-based SoCs with FPGA fabric running Linux or Windows.
• Create schematics, select components, define board-level architecture, and maintain engineering documentation.
• Support PCB layout, design reviews, signal integrity and power integrity analysis, design verification, and design-for-manufacturing activities.
• Plan and execute hardware bring-up, validation, qualification, manufacturing support, and system integration.
• Debug hardware issues and develop basic DC-DC converter circuits and power distribution networks.
• Provide technical guidance to manufacturing and engineering teams, mentor early-career engineers, and improve engineering processes and product quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience designing embedded hardware systems based on host processors with MMUs running Linux or Windows.
• Experience with Intel processor platforms and/or ARM-based SoCs with integrated FPGA fabric, as well as complex multilayer circuit boards.
• Strong knowledge of digital hardware design, high-speed interfaces, memory subsystems, processor support circuitry, and power sequencing.
• Experience with PCB design tools, schematic capture, layout review, design verification, signal integrity, power integrity, and manufacturability.
• Must be a U.S. Person or be able to obtain the necessary U.S. government export authorizations under ITAR requirements.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Python for scripting, automation, or test development.
• Familiarity with Verilog or other hardware description languages.
• Experience with soldering, prototype rework, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, contract manufacturers, and cross-functional engineering support.
